WTF? Walmart Says Sorry For ‘Gun-Toting’ Back-To-School Display

Walmart has issued an apology over a ‘back to school’ campaign that featured guns. The retail giant’s Evansville, Indiana store featured a gun display with a banner over it reading, “Own the school year like a hero.”

Walmart stated that the display has since been taken down, saying:

“We are investigating this situation and deeply regret that this image has been circulated as it doesn’t represent our company values.”

The company added that:

“This REALLY isn’t acceptable,” and that “The sign’s gone and we’re looking into how this could have happened.”

It is unclear whether the banner was placed by an employee or a customer…
