Casting continues for the upcoming stand-alone Star Wars movie about the origins of Han Solo. With Alden Ehrenreich already set to play the young sci-fi smuggler, reports say that Disney executives are in talks to have Woody Harrelson play Han’s mentor.
While nothing is settled yet, Harrelson is said to be the top choice for the role as executives wanted a name with some real clout.
The movie, which will be set before Star Wars: A New Hope, is set for release in 2018 and will begin production this month.
So far, Donald Glover and Emilia Clarke are set to star, with Phil Lord and Chris Miller directing and production being overseen by Kathleen Kennedy and Allison Shearmur.
Harrelson and Shearmur have worked together in the past on the ‘Hunger Games.’
