On this day: Ludacris, Mystikal, The Beatles and Bessie Smith

Stopping off in 2006, and September 26 saw Ludacris release his fifth album, ‘Release Therapy,’ which included the Grammy-winning track, ‘Money Maker,’ which was produced by The Neptunes:

Following something of a theme, but heading back to 2000, and Mystikal released his fourth album, ‘Let’s Get Ready,’ on this day.

This album also included production from The Neptunes and the hit singles, ‘Shake Ya Ass’ and ‘Danger (Been So Long):’

Going back further, to 1969, and The Beatles released their ‘Abbey Road’ album in the UK – the US release followed five days later…

Finally, September 26, 1937, saw the loss of Jazz pioneer Bessie Smith, aged just 43. Having influenced many singers over the years since she died, Bessie was killed when a car hit her truck near Clarksdale, Mississippi.
