Nice Work! Taylor Swift Steps Up To Help Louisiana Flood Victims

Taylor Swift has shown her positive side by pledging to donate $1 million to help the victims of the Louisiana floods.

The singer revealed how she was touched by the reception she got when she played in the state during her ‘1989 World Tour,’ and is now keen to give back in their time of need.

26-year-old Taylor explained:

“We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home. The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heart-breaking.”

Torrential rain led to floods which killed at least 11 people and caused damage to at least 40,000 homes. Over 60,000 have registered for disaster aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, with over 30,000 needing to be rescued since last Friday.

Our thoughts are with all of those affected by the floods, or as Taylor puts it:

“I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time.”
