Mystery Surrounding The Death Of George Michael

Pop superstar, George Michael was found dead in bed by his boyfriend on Christmas Day, but over a week later there is still mystery around what caused the former Wham frontman to die.

The 53-year-old singer was found dead at his Oxfordshire home by his boyfriend Fadi Fawaz with early reports saying heart failure was the cause of death. George Michael’s publicist stated:

“It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period.”

However, a first post mortem has proven to be inconclusive, which fed into rumors that the singer was hooked on heroin. Reports said that George had been “battling a spiraling heroin addiction” and had even been treated for an overdose.

However, a family source denied the gossip, saying:

“The suggestion George was suffering with heroin addiction or used it in the weeks before his death is entirely false. Fans have been celebrating his life and there’s no place for such unpleasant and false allegations. There were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. The police have told us that directly.”

The mystery deepened when a series of tweets were released by Fadi, who had been dating George since 2009. The series of messages claimed that George Michael had committed suicide:

“Not sure who that nasty close friend of George (sic) but i was in a relationship with George Michael till i found him dead in bed. The only thing George wanted is to die. He tried numbers of times to kill himself many times and finally he managed. We loved each other very much and were together almost 24 hours a day.”

However, the tweets were later deleted and the Twitter account shut down, as Fawaz later told the press:

“I am shocked with what’s going on with the Twitter thing. My Twitter account has been hacked and closed. It’s a bit scary to be honest. I did not send those tweets. I woke up at 11.30am to the news. I am not going to worry about these things.”

Fawaz claims that he was with George on Christmas Eve but says he had spent the night sleeping in his car, claiming:

“I fell asleep in my car and I never saw him that night.”

We’re not sure about you, but we think there are a lot of questions here…

Why did Fawaz sleep in his car and leave George alone at home?

Who hacked Fawaz’s Twitter account, and why?

Was George really suicidal, and why did he skip going to midnight mass at church like he did on Christmas Eve the year before?
