Music Archaeology – A Look At Record Collecting In A Digital Age

Alexis Charpentier aka DJ Lexis from Canada has lifted the lid on the world of obsessive record collectors. These are the fans, DJs and music producers who spend hours searching (or ‘digging’) through stacks of old vinyl in a digital age.

DJ Lexis reveals all in his interesting talk – revealing how these obsessive record collectors are actually like archaeologists and archivists searching out forgotten musical treasures in the digital age. As DJ Lexis said, “They have significant cultural role in protecting important parts of recorded music history.”
