Just One Actress DIDN’T Wear Black To The Golden Globes – Find Out Who & Why?

This year’s Golden Globes saw many within the movie industry wearing black to show solidarity and draw a focus to sexual abuse and harassment in the industry. While many men joined in with the stand, it was the women who really carried the message to the masses with all of them wearing black dresses – all except one!

Actress, Blanca Blanco certainly stood out in the sea of black – but why did she not join the others?

She hopped on social media to simply state:

The issue is bigger than my dress color

After the event, Blanca went on to give more details on her decision:

I love red. Wearing red does not mean I am against the movement. I applaud and stand by the courageous actresses that continue to break the cycle of abuse through their actions and fashion style choices. It is one of many factors leading women to a safer place because of their status. I am excited about the TimesUp movement; true change is long overdue. Shaming is part of the problem.

While she was the only actress not in black, she wasn’t the only woman to go against the trend on the night.

German Model Barbara Meier wore a pastel, feathery outfit with lots of embroidery, while Meher Tatna, the head of the Hollywood Foreign Press, wore a red dress (reportedly to represent her Indian culture) – although Tatna did include a timesup pin with her ensemble.
