Donald Trump is set to officially become the president at his inauguration on January 20th, 2017 – however there seems to be a problem with finding people to perform.
While opera singer Andrea Bocelli and America’s Got Talent runner-up Jackie Evancho have reportedly been booked to perform, there have been allegations that Trump’s people have been trying to bribe others to perform.
Although Trump’s people deny the claims, talent bookers have alleged that they were offered ambassadorships and “access to the administration” in return for their clients performing. One talent booker reportedly said:
Interestingly, sources say that even Kanye West, who met Donald Trump at Trump Tower this week managed to avoid questions about performing for the incoming President.
While we can’t be sure if these reports are true (and we know how Donald loves to drop a lawsuit!), it certainly differs from when Obama was sworn in as President! Aretha Franklin famously performed at Obama’s 2009 inauguration, while Beyoncé and Kelly Clarkson both sang at Barack’s 2013 inauguration…
