This is a crazy story about how an Arizona woman went to sleep with a headache and woke up with a British accent!
Michelle Myers, a former beauty queen and mother of seven from Buckeye, said she has never even left the United States, but went to sleep with a headache seven years ago and woke up with an Irish accent!
The Irish accent passed after about a week, but three years later she again went to sleep with a headache, only to wake up sounding Australian!
But things took another turn for the bizarre in 2015, when Myers suffered a headache so severe that her right eye went temporarily blind and she couldn’t move the left side of her body.
She was taken to the emergency room, where she woke up with a British accent that has been with her ever since.
Speaking on her strange situation, Myers said:
However, far from being a ‘loon,’ Myers actually has what is known as ‘Foreign Accent Syndrome,’ which can affect people who have had a stroke or other condition that causes neurological damage. The former Miss Black Austin Texas suffers from a condition known as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which includes rupturing blood vessels, easy bruising and painful joints.
