Donald Trump Claims GOP Headquarters Was Firebombed Because “We Are Winning!”

Donald Trump has hit out at the “animals” who firebombed the North Carolina GOP headquarter yesterday (October 16). He even used the incident as an excuse to hit out at his election rival, Hillary Clinton, by saying that the attackers “represented” Democrats and Clinton supporters.

A burnt couch is shown next to warped campaign signs at the Orange County Republican Headquarters in Hillsborough, NC on Sunday, Oct. 16 2016. Someone threw flammable liquid inside a bottle through a window overnight and someone spray-painted an anti-GOP slogan referring to "Nazi Republicans" on a nearby wall, authorities said Sunday. Trump tweeted:

The North Carolina GOP thanked Trump for his comments, saying that local Republicans will not be “silenced nor suppressed” by the attack. They also thanked Hillary Clinton after she tweeted:

A group of Democrats set up a GoFundMe campaign in the wake of the bombing raising over $13,000 in just 40 minutes to fund the rebuild of the headquarters – easily exceeding the $10,000 goal.

While we can’t condone the attack, we have to question Trump’s assertion that he is “winning!”
