Dog Rescued After Being Lost On Mountain For 6 Weeks

A dog was found alive after spending 6 weeks alone on a Colorado mountain. The dog, named Chloe, went missing on Mount Bross when her owners Larry Osborne and Anouk Patel were visiting with their pet.

The frantic owners took to Facebook to launch an appeal to help find their dog, and the call was answered by strangers including Sean Nichols and Trinity Smith, who went up the 14,000 foot mountain looking for Chloe.

Sean takes up the story of how he managed to find Chloe:

“Once I got there, I could see a little head pop up and hear her barking.”

He climbed up the mountain until he found an emaciated and frightened Chloe on a ledge:

“She came down into my chest and there was such an incline that we just slid [down the mountain].”

Chloe was just 26 pounds in weight when she was rescued, but doctors say she will be fine. As for her owners, Anouk said:

“We love our dog and we almost gave up, but she is back with us and that is the best thing in the world.”
