Did Beyonce & Jay-Z Just Co-Sign Being Vegan?

It’s fair to say that Beyonce and Jay-Z are pretty influential – but would you consider giving up eating meat and go vegan because they co-signed it?

The couple paired up to write an introduction for a new book called ‘The Greenprint: Plant-Based Diet, Best Body, Better World’ by Bey’s personal trainer, Marco Borges.

The couple wrote:

“Having children has changed our lives more than anything else. We used to think of health as a diet – some worked for us, some didn’t. Once we looked at health as the truth, instead of a diet, it became a mission for us to share that truth and lifestyle with as many people as possible.”

However, they were sure to note:

“We are not about promoting any one way of living your life. You decide what’s best for you.”

That said, Bey and Jay then explained:

“The facts about a plant-based diet eating are hard to ignore. The benefits of a single plant-meal per day can have a profound impact our health and environment.”

Adding:

“We want to challenge you, as we challenge ourselves, to move toward plant-based foods. Let’s take this stand together. Let’s spread the truth. Let’s make this mission a movement. Let’s become ‘the Greenprint.’”

While we’re not sure we would completely change our diet at the say-so of Beyonce or Jay-Z, there is some truth in their words. Perhaps it is time to consider trying to eat vegan (or at least vegetarian) one day each week?

There are plenty of tasty and healthy meat-free meal options out there and when it comes to the environmental impact of meat production – even a little change from everybody will have a big impact!
