This good news and grand gesture is fantastic sauce! Admittedly, we used to think some of the hospitals supporting cancer were not the real-deal because there has not been a known cure. However, in recent years, we have learned that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (which is one of the well-known cancer facilities – for children), is as legitimate as they come.
Good job by 7th-grader, Diesel Pippert of the Western Reserves School District of Ohio, who decided to donate the $15,000 in livestock premiums from the county fair’s animal sale.
Pippert’s good deed did not go without notice by his community, as the school district was impressed by his generous donation. They even posted a photo of Diesel to their Facebook page alongside this touching message:
“A young man lives amongst us who should be an example to us all,” wrote the district Facebook page. “His donation of $15,000 will help to find cures for young children and save lives. Diesel, you are a hero!”
Reports also state that Diesel Pippert’s unselfish act has led others to donate to the cause, too. NOW, this is what life is all about – Paying it forward! Philanthropy can start early!
