Are sex robot brothels a good idea?

We recently saw a story about a company that is planning to open sex robot brothels in a number of locations across the USA – but it made us wonder – is that a good thing or not?

Ontario-based KinkySdollS already rent out realistic sex robots for half an hour or an hour at a time and now they plan to move to other cities, including Houston, where a local religious nonprofit are fighting back.

The nonprofit, Elijah Rising, who fight against sex trafficking, are looking to get the move into Houston shut down. A spokesperson explained:

“We were absolutely horrified.”

“Our biggest concern is that this sex brothel with robots is gonna train men to become rapists. What’s next? Is it child robots? Where’s the line? Where is the boundary? We can’t allow these kind of public masturbation businesses to operate in our city.”

Elijah Rising even created a petition, stating:

“Robot brothels will ultimately harm men, their understanding of healthy sexuality, and increase the demand for the prostitution and sexual exploitation of women and children.”

So, the question is, do these type of establishments encourage deviant behavior or are they actually a good outlet that could, in fact, help lower rates of things like prostitution?

We suppose there are two sides to this story, so while a robot sex brothel may have a positive effect on some it may prove a negative influence for other users. However, we feel that jumping straight from KinkySdollS’ business into fear of child abuse may be stretching things a little…
