Banksy’s Real Identity Revealed?

Graffiti artist Banksy may have made millions from books and sales of his art, but has somehow always managed to keep his identity a secret from the public – until now!

Musician, DJ, and former graffiti artist, Goldie was speaking on a recent podcast about how the mainstream art world cashed in on graffiti art when he said:

“Give me a bubble letter and put it on a T-shirt and write Banksy on it and we’re sorted. We can sell it now… No disrespect to Robert, I think he is a brilliant artist. I think he has flipped the world of art over.”

After saying Banksy’s first name, Goldie went quiet before quickly changing the subject. So, who is this ‘Robert?

Sources are saying that it is Robert Del Naja, a member of the group Massive Attack and a friend of Goldie’s. The pair even wrote together as graffiti artists back in the late ‘80s.

In fact, Del Naja may be the ringleader of a team of artists who have been working together as a crew to produce ‘Banksy’s’ infamous art. However, Robert has previously denied the accusations, saying:

“Wishful thinking, I think. He is a mate as well. He’s been to some of the gigs. It’s purely a matter of logistics and coincidence, nothing more than that.”

Despite Del Naja’s denials, people have noticed that banksy’s artwork seems to appear in places where Massive Attack have been performing.

Plus, ‘Banksy’ provided the foreword to Del Naja’s book ‘3D and the Art of Marrive Attack.’

We’re not so sure…
