A pop-up café dedicated to the memory of rapper Tupac Shakur is set to open in California to mark the 20th anniversary of his death. The Powamekka Cafe, which is due to open next week, takes its name and menu items from ideas the rapper once had for a cookbook and restaurant.
Menu items include a California Love Chicken Sandwich, Hennessy Apple Butter chicken wings, mac-and-cheeseburger, and Thug Passion cake pops featuring champagne cake with Alize liqueur-flavored frosting.
The café is set to open at the Fulton Mall in Fresno on September 13th, 20 years to the day that the iconic MC died, and the opening night will see a number of local musicians perform Tupac songs.
