“Safe Sex, Baby!” Family Doctor Drops Safe Sex Rap For Seniors Over Vanilla Ice!

Dr. Shannon Dowler from Asheville, North Carolina wanted to find a new way to get the message out there about sexually transmitted diseases among older people. With the number of STI’s increasing among older people in the last ten years, Dr. Dowler decided to act by taking on the rapping name RapDktaD and flipping her own version of Vanilla Ice’s 1990 hit single, ‘Ice, Ice Baby.’

While the track includes rhymes like, “If you have a problem, lube might solve it, see your family doc if it doesn’t resolve it,” Dr. Dowler spoke about the very serious issue behind her rap:

“It’s tough, to tell a 72-year-old that they’re having their first herpes outbreak. If they’ve lost their partner, they’re suddenly developing a new relationship, and there’s a whole slew of STDs they’ve never heard about.”
