Is ‘Beauty Sleep’ A Real Thing?

You may have heard people saying that they need their ‘beauty sleep,’ usually when they are planning to get an early night or excusing themselves for sleeping for a long time.

However, is there any truth to the idea that sleep can actually improve your looks?

    LitViral investigates…

Of course, we all know how important sleep is to our physical and mental wellbeing, you only need to start skipping out on sleep and you will start to feel cranky. Not only that, but a lack of sleep will also leave you feeling ‘run-down’ and more likely to start picking up illnesses like colds.

As you sleep your body and mind are given time to rest and regenerate, reducing the symptoms of stress while also boosting your immune system and giving your body time to repair.

    But what about ‘beauty sleep?’

    Banksy’s Real Identity Revealed?

Graffiti artist Banksy may have made millions from books and sales of his art, but has somehow always managed to keep his identity a secret from the public – until now!

Musician, DJ, and former graffiti artist, Goldie was speaking on a recent podcast about how the mainstream art world cashed in on graffiti art when he said:

“Give me a bubble letter and put it on a T-shirt and write Banksy on it and we’re sorted. We can sell it now… No disrespect to Robert, I think he is a brilliant artist. I think he has flipped the world of art over.”

    (Goldie)

After saying Banksy’s first name, Goldie went quiet before quickly changing the subject. So, who is this ‘Robert?

Sources are saying that it is Robert Del Naja, a member of the group Massive Attack and a friend of Goldie’s. The pair even wrote together as graffiti artists back in the late ‘80s.

In fact, Del Naja may be the ringleader of a team of artists who have been working together as a crew to produce ‘Banksy’s’ infamous art. However, Robert has previously denied the accusations, saying:

“Wishful thinking, I think. He is a mate as well. He’s been to some of the gigs. It’s purely a matter of logistics and coincidence, nothing more than that.”

Despite Del Naja’s denials, people have noticed that banksy’s artwork seems to appear in places where Massive Attack have been performing.

    (Robert Del Naja)

Plus, ‘Banksy’ provided the foreword to Del Naja’s book ‘3D and the Art of Marrive Attack.’

    Coincidence?

    We’re not so sure…

    Rihanna Offers Amazing Break-Up Advice

Break-ups are tough, and despite their best-intentions, your friends’ advice may not be quite what you want to hear.

All that talk of being “too good” for your ex, or that “it’s for the best” doesn’t seem to make much of a difference to the heartbreak. Sure, things will fix themselves in time, but sometimes we need to search further for answers.

One Twitter user took things to another level by sending a message to Rihanna, asking for her advice on a recent break-up.

As expected, Rih didn’t disappoint – check it out:

Halle Berry Slams ‘Black Lives Matter’ Inactives

Halle Berry has hit out at ‘Black Lives Matter’ supporters who talk the talk but fail to walk the walk.

The actress was making an appearance at the Cannes Lions Girls’ Lounge when she spoke out about those who spend a lot of time talking about the movement but don’t really do anything much else.

    Halle said:

“In my world, I get so tired of people complaining about, ‘Oh black lives matter,’ and they pontificate and pontificate about it, and I say, ‘Well, what are you doing about that? It may not seem significant to you, but that’s how we start. Have you called your local politicians, have you written a letter?’”

    She continued:

“When they say they’ve done nothing, I say, ‘Well, don’t talk to me…because you are part of the problem, because you are sitting here spewing negativity and complaining.’ I don’t have time for people who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.”

We have to agree with Halle here.

While building awareness and discussing the issues is important, unless it is followed up with genuine action then it’s all just so much hot air.

John Singleton Reveals Shocking Truths About ‘All Eyez On Me’

As the Tupac biopic, All Eyez On Me heats up the box-office, director Benny Boom (real name Benny Douglas) has been taking the plaudits for his work. But did you know that Boyz N The Hood director John Singleton was originally supposed to helm the movie?

Singleton was a guest on the raucous ‘Drink Champs’ podcast recently, where he told hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN a few shocking behind-the-scenes truths about the making of All Eyez On Me.

Among the allegations was the rumor that Singleton had planned to show a scene where Tupac was raped in prison. Gossip has long said that Shakur was raped while serving time in jail, although the rapper himself strenuously denied the talk at the time.

Speaking on the issue, Singleton simply said:

“There’s a whole lot of things that they would not have in the movie that actually happened.”

When pushed to speak further, Singleton replied:

“There’s a whole lot of things that happened. There’s stuff [about] who actually was involved in his death and the lead up to his death.”

Singleton also revealed that the rights for the movie were ‘stolen’ from Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur. He revealed:

“They stole the rights from his mother. They made the movie they wanted to make, and hopefully one day I’ll get a chance to tell that story.”

Afeni passed away in May 2016, around a year before the movie’s June 2017 release. However, back in 2014, All Eyez On Me producer LT Hutton had asserted of Afeni:

“She has a huge role. She has approval of a lot of things, and she wants the best portrayal of her son possible. She doesn’t have a problem with any of the truth. She just wants to make sure that everything was told correctly.”

We wonder what Afeni (and Tupac) would have made of All Eyez On Me?

Man Sent Home From Work For Wearing Shorts In Heatwave – So Returns In A Dress!

The UK is in the middle of a heatwave, so it might not be too much for companies to relax their dress-codes a little. However, it seems that lots of places stick to old-fashioned dress codes that actually discriminate against men – don’t believe us?

Call-center worker, Joey Barge decided that it would be fair to wear a smart pair of shorts to the office, tweeting:

“If women can wear skirts/dresses at work can I wear smart shorts like so?”

We think the shorts look fine, but his work disagreed and sent him home to get changed.

So, to prove a point, Joey decided to slip on a pink dress and go back to the office, tweeting:

“I got sent home and told to change into appropriate clothing but it said females could wear dresses so hey ho!”

    Ready for work!

It seems the company got the 20-year-old’s point, as they have now switched their dress code so that men can wear three quarter length shorts – but only if they’re black, beige or navy.

Another blow is struck for equality! 😊

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West Hire Surrogate For 3rd Child!

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are planning to have another child according to reports, except this time they are going to use a surrogate through an agency. Sources say that the decision was made due to Kim having a condition called placenta accrete, which makes another pregnancy life-threatening for the reality TV star.

The surrogate is required to refrain from drinking, smoking or any drug use during the pregnancy, as well as restricting sexual activity in the weeks leading up to the pregnancy and for three weeks after impregnation.

The surrogate is also being told not to use hot tubs or saunas, handle or change cat litter, apply hair dye, or drink more than one caffeinated beverage per day or eat raw fish!

It may sound like a lot, but in return the surrogate will reportedly get $45,000 in 10, $4,500 monthly instalments plus an extra $5,000 for each additional child should there be twins, triplets, or more! The surrogate is also promised $4,000 should she lose reproductive organs as a result of the pregnancy!

Kim and Kanye are paying a further $68,850 to the agency dealing with the surrogacy and will “assume the legal and parental responsibilities for any child … that may possess any congenital or other abnormalities or defects.”

Blue Ivy LOVES Being A Big Sister – Helping To Name Twins!

Blue Ivy may have only had siblings for a few days, but sources say that she is already loving life as a big sister to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s twins. In fact, Blue has even been asked to help name the new arrivals!

    A source revealed:

“Blue Ivy is relishing the role as new big sister. She has been keeping mommy company in the hospital and has even helped in the naming process of her new siblings. Blue is happy and can’t wait to take the new babies home to play with.”

So far, not much info has come out about the new babies, although reports say that they are thought to be a boy and a girl.

It’s great that Blue Ivy is getting so involved, but we hope Bey and Jay have final say on those baby names – anyone who has let a child name the family pet will know that it can be a gamble!
