Watermelon

Aside from being rehydrating and containing high levels of vitamin C, watermelon also contains impressive levels of a chemical called lycopene.

Rivaling Viagra for effectiveness, lycopene helps relax blood vessels and improves circulation which lets the blood flow to the parts of the body where it is needed – if you get what we mean!

Pomegranate Juice

A study from the International Journal of Impotence Research shows that pomegranate juice has a positive effect when it comes to keeping men up and ready for action (as it were!).

Found to improve erectile dysfunction, pomegranate is said to contain antioxidants that improve the all-important flow of blood!

Sounds like a great ‘pick-me-up’ to us!

Blueberries

Blueberries are rich in flavonoids called anthocyanins. A study from the University of East Anglia and Harvard University found that flavonoids can reduce the risk of erectile dysfunction in men – with anthocyanins being one of the three most effective types.

The other two most effective flavonoids in preventing an unwanted droop are called flavanones and flavones, which can be found in citrus fruits.

Packed with an amino acid called L-arginine, nuts like pistachios, peanuts, and walnuts can all help keep men ‘up to task’ in the bedroom.

L-arginine helps create nitric oxide, which is a naturally occurring gas that helps guys keep their erections. But that is not all, as nuts can also help reduce cholesterol levels, which can also cause problems in the bedroom!

One word of warning though, try to avoid too much salt (such as with salted peanuts) as too much sodium can decrease the blood flow to the genitals. Although you can counteract sodium with potassium, which can be found in bananas and potatoes!

In fact, the arteries surrounding the genitals are narrower than those in your heart, so are more prone to clots. Or to put it simply, better cholesterol equals better erections!

Now if that isn’t a reason to eat more healthily, we don’t know what is!
